She was born Wilma Warren in Paducah, Kentucky on March 14, 1928. Shortly
after her birth, the family home burned. The family moved to Illinois, settling in
Peoria, where she was raised. During World War II, they moved to Vallejo,
California to work in the shipyards.
It was in Vallejo that Wilma met Joseph Brulenski, who had recently been
discharged from the Navy at the end of the War. They later married and moved
to Joe’s family’s home in Brooklyn, New York. Eventually they re-settled in
California, at San Jose and later Santa Clara.
Wilma worked at a variety of employments before entering Real Estate as an
agent and later as a broker.
She moved to Auburn and continued her career in Real Estate with a
focus on land sales.
She will be remembered as a loving mother and daughter, an independent and
strong woman who set goals and almost invariably would accomplish her ends.
She is survived by son Joseph of Berkeley, Stanley of Newcastle; grandsons
Orlando and Arlan of Berkeley and great grandchildren Ruben, Esai, Mariano,
Ester and Bianca; all of Berkeley. A Celebration of Life will be held at the First Congregational Church of Auburn 710 Auburn Ravine Rd on May 27, 2023 at 12:00 pm
