Zachary David Giguiere, 46, of Auburn, California, passed away on August 23, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born October 19, 1978, to David Giguiere and Jeannie Giguiere (Kirk), Zach grew up locally and graduated from Del Oro High School with the Class of 1996.
Zach lived life on his own terms — quick with a grin, a sarcastic quip, and an appetite for the unexpected. He had a knack for turning ordinary moments into stories: an unplanned detour that became the evening everyone still talks about, a last‑minute decision that pulled friends together, or a late‑night run that somehow made perfect sense at the time. That freewheeling spirit sometimes earned him a run‑in with the law, but it was never mean-spirited — more proof that Zach lived boldly and refused to let life be routine.
He loved the open road on his motorcycle and the company of friends and family who appreciated his humor and fierce loyalty. Friends remember him as generous, stubborn in the best ways, and always ready to push a night — and sometimes the rules — into something memorable. Those misadventures, told and retold, are part of what will keep his laugh alive in gatherings to come.
Zach is survived by his daughters, Samantha, Faith and Leelah; his parents, David and Jeannie Giguiere; his brother, Ryan Giguiere; and his sisters, Heather Rector and Jenna Wihl. They, along with countless friends, will miss his mischievous spark, his stubborn optimism, and his ability to make even the plainest day worth remembering.
Funeral and memorial arrangements are pending and will be announced by the family. For now, those who knew Zach are invited to honor him as he lived: share a wild story, take a spontaneous ride, and don’t be afraid to bend the rules — just this once — in his memory.
