Bill passed away from a massive heart attack.

Billy Ray Gibson Sr was born in Lackey, Kentucky in Knott County. Preceded in death by his parents John M & Lily May Gibson. Son Billy Ray Gibson Jr., Brothers James & John Edward, Sisters Betty Gene Workman & Trish Hoffmen. Survivors by Billy Ray Gibson Sr. wife Bessie Ann of 55 years of marriage. Son Gregory Scott, Grandson Billy Ray Gibson III daughter -in- law Delphine Gibson, Sisters Glene LaFontaine, Barb Thomas, Sue Hay and Pud Hager and many nieces and nephews.

Billy Ray married the love of his life, Bessie Bador on Oct 16, 1971 in Rochester Hills. They were together for 55 years. They raised two boys, Billy Ray Jr. and Gregory Scott. Bill graduated from Avondale High School. He worked at James Steel and Tub and retired in 1993. Bill enjoyed the outdoors and loved fishing and hunting. Working and teaching his grandson how to work on things he enjoyed working with woodworking picture frames, crosses, cedar chests for his nieces. Planting Red Maple Trees and Apple trees like making home made pies and home made fudge he called it "Cherokee Fudge"

Visitation will be held at Pixley Funeral Home, 3530 Auburn Road, Auburn Hills, MI 48326, US, on October 18, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

A time of sharing will take place at Pixley Funeral Home, 3530 Auburn Road, Auburn Hills, MI 48326, US, on October 19, 2026, at 11:00 AM

A Committal Service will be held at Christian Memorial Gardens West, 521 E Hamlin Rd, Rochester Hills, MI.
