

Bonnie was born on January 6, 1944, in Detroit, Michigan, to the late John and Frida Biggs. She was raised in Detroit alongside her siblings, Sherri, Cindy, and John. Bonnie graduated from Cooley High School before earning her master's degree from Wayne State University.
Bonnie devoted more than 30 years of her life to teaching with Detroit Public Schools, where she touched the lives of countless students through her compassion, patience, and unwavering commitment to education. In addition to her work in the classroom, Bonnie served as a union president, advocating for her fellow educators with integrity, fairness, and determination.
A strong believer in giving back, Bonnie was deeply involved in her community. She generously volunteered with Meals on Wheels and remained politically active throughout her life, believing that every person has the opportunity and responsibility to make a positive difference in their community.
Outside of her career and volunteer work, Bonnie embraced life with curiosity and enthusiasm. She enjoyed traveling, hiking, biking, camping, and reading. She had a lifelong love of music, taking piano lessons and playing the keyboard and organ. She also found joy in creative pursuits, including needlepoint and scrapbooking, preserving cherished memories for her family to enjoy for years to come.
For 49 wonderful years, Bonnie shared a loving marriage with her husband, Frank Heinzman. Together, they built a life centered on love, family, and lasting memories.
Bonnie lived by values that guided every aspect of her life. She believed in leaving the world a better place than she found it, treating every person with kindness and respect, and keeping her extended family connected through love, support, and togetherness. Her generosity, compassion, and unwavering dedication to others will continue to inspire all who knew her.
Bonnie is lovingly remembered by her devoted husband, Frank Heinzman; her children, Moneca Quintero, James Heinzman, and Aleese Heinzman; her cherished grandchildren, Xavier, Garrett, Angelina, and Lyla; and her siblings, Sherri Drew, Cindy Warren, and John German (Colette). She will also be remembered fondly by her extended family and friends.
A private burial service will take place at The Preserve in Waterford, Michigan.
