Carl Richard Lowell

LOWELL, Carl Richard, 88, of Bloomfield Hills, passed away peacefully at his home on May 25, 2017. Loving husband of 66 years to Margaret (Peg), father of Dana (Donna) and Gary (Jane) Proud Grandfather of Garrett, Michele, Shannon, Brett and Matthew (Elizabeth) and Great Grandfather of AnnaBelle Lofquist and Robert Carl Lowell. Carl was born in Portland, Maine on June 17, 1928, after graduation from the Hinkley School in Hinkley Maine, he attended Northeastern University during which he proudly served in the Army and was in combat in the Korean War as an infantry man. After his honorable discharge from the Army, Carl then graduated from Northeastern University where he received his Bachelor’s Degree. He was married to Margaret (“Peg”) on May 12, 1951, they enjoyed 66 years of marriage taking them from Boston, to Dayton, Ohio and then to Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. Carl worked in sales for NCR and was a member of the Masons in Boston, Massachusetts. He had a passion for golf and wood working and was a Trustee and Usher for St. Paul United Methodist Church. In Lieu of flowers, donation will be accepted for St.Paul United Methodist Church and The Hinkley School. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, June 10, 2017, at 11 AM at St. Paul United Methodist Church, 165 E Square Lake Rd., Bloomfield Hills.
