BEACOM, DONALD W – Of Auburn Hills, age 78, died Saturday, October 18, 2014, peacefully at home. Funeral Mass will be 10:00am, Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 3400 S. Adams Rd, Auburn Hills, with Visitation starting at 9:30am before the start of the Mass. Visitation will be Monday, October 20, 2014 from 2:00pm – 4:00pm and 6:00pm – 8:00pm and Tuesday, October 21, 2014 from 3:00pm – 8:00pm at Pixley Funeral Home, 3530 Auburn Rd.

Don was born in Auburn Heights, MI on May 25, 1936. On August 20, 1955 he married Barbara Sarafinski in Pontiac, MI. He retired from General Motors after 36 years as a general supervisor, and proceeded to dedicate another 18 years working at Osco Corporation. He had an amazingly inventive mind, which he put to use in his love of cars and hot rods. He was a great mechanic and enjoyed car shows and talking to everyone and anyone about them. With his wonderful sense of humor, he had a knack for telling jokes and making people laugh. His smile was contagious! He loved his family and you would never see him without Barb. Everything they did, they did together.

Predeceased by daughter Karen Taliercio and her husband Tony in 2010, and sister Geraldine Jameson in 2001. Surviving are wife Barbara, son Bill Beacom and wife Sandy of Auburn Hills; grandson Tony Taliercio and wife Rhonda of Goodrich, great-grandkids Hailee and Hunter; granddaughter Kelly Tollefson and husband Jon of Troy, great-granddaughter Juliana; grandson Matt Beacom and wife Laura of Auburn Hills, great-grandkids Jake and Cade; grandson Jeremy Taliercio and wife Krystal of Minneapolis, MN; grandson Nick Taliercio and wife Brandi of Grand Blanc; sister Donna and her husband Sam Ritchie; niece Julie Allen; nephew Dave Linsenman and wife Sue; niece Sherrie Kerschenheiter; niece Sandy Taliercio and husband Vince; niece Paula Metez; nephew Mike Sarafinski; niece Teresa; and brother in-law Richard Jameson.
