Dorothy Mae Davis

Dot was born on January 17, 1930, in Ann Arbor, Michigan, to Clayton and Neva Goetz. She was raised in Elkton, Michigan, where she spent her early years before beginning a rich and fulfilling life marked by love, hard work, and her devotion to The Lord.

She met the love of her life, Oscar “Tom” Davis, through mutual friends, and the two were married in a double wedding on January 14, 1950. They shared 65 beautiful years of marriage before Tom’s passing in 2015.

After graduating from high school, Dot became a licensed beautician. She later co-owned and operated a restaurant with her husband before transitioning to a career in banking. She retired after many successful years in management, earning respect for her dedication, leadership, and integrity.

Dot was a woman of deep faith. She was a devoted member of her church in Harrison, Michigan, where she was actively involved in both the congregation and the women’s club. Her life was guided by kindness, generosity, and service to others. She was known for her talents in her amazing quilting abilities, cross-stitching, gardening, and cooking. Dorothy loved puzzles, card games, and time spent in her garden. But above all else, she cherished her family deeply, always putting their needs and happiness first.

Dot is survived by her grandson; Thomas “Tom” Davis and his wife Jammie, great grandchildren; Madison and Aiden Davis, her niece Sue (Steve) McCalden, her nephews; Mark (Kim) Goetz and Scott Goetz, many great nieces and nephews. Dot is also survived by her loving companion, Jim Meech, with whom she shared her later years.

Dot was preceded in death by her loving husband Oscar "Thomas" Davis, her beloved son Lee Davis, her grandson Kyle Marshall, brother Robert Goetz, and her nephew David Goetz, and her niece Pamela Richards.

Dot’s warmth, wisdom, and unwavering love left an indelible mark on all who knew her. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched and the memories she created.

A visitation for Dorothy will be held Thursday, August 14, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Pixley Funeral Home, 3530 Auburn Rd., Auburn Hills, Michigan 48326. A visitation will occur Friday, August 15, 2025 from 10:00 AM till the time of service at 11:00 AM, at Pixley Funeral Home, Auburn Hills.

Dot will be laid to rest at Hillcrest Cemetery on Saturday August 16, 2025, at 12:00 PM, located at 1201 W Temple Dr, Harrison, MI 48625.
