Earle Dean Knapp II

EARLE DEAN KNAPP, II. Age 62, of Rochester Hills, died Monday July 29, 2019. Dean was born on September 23, 1956 in Pontiac, son of the late Norman Dean and Greta Marie (Detro) Knapp. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Lori (Schmidt); children April (Donovan) Knapp, Nathan Knapp, and Renee (Jon) Knapp; granddaughter Anamira Sky Cowdrey; and sister Linda (Wes) Knapp-Phelps. Also survived by step-father Jack Detro; step-brothers Johnny Detro, Bobby Detro, Jackie Detro and step-sister Debbie (Jeff) Starky, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Dean was preceded in death by a brother Brian Knapp, sister Lisa Greene and Step-brother Michael Detro. Dean served in the U.S. Marine Corps, and had recently graduated from Oakland Community College. He was a Journeyman Plumber who took great pride in his job. He also enjoyed reading, and fishing, and was a generous man who would “give you the shirt of his back”. He will be greatly missed. In honor of Dean’s request, public services will not be held at this time. Military honors will be scheduled at a later date.
