Gail Lynn Babb

Gail Lynn Babb, Beloved family member, friend and colleague. Gail, the youngest child of Winnifred and George Frederick of Birmingham, Michigan, died on February 14, 2015, at age 58. She has gone to a better place, where there is no more pain or sorrow.

Gail, a long-time resident of Auburn Hills, was married to Victor A. Babb (deceased). She is survived by her immediate family: sister Deborah Frederick, brother Paul Frederick (Jackie) children Mary, Danielle, James, grandchildren Mayson and Jackson, and Jenny Babb-Asher (daughter) Rod Asher (husband), children Easton and Jordon and grandchild Solara as well as; Val Bates (Matt), Dean Babb (Ann) and children Greg (Brie) and Colleen (Carl).

Gail attended Seaholm High School and earned her associates degrees at Oakland University. She graduated magna cum laude in 1999 from Wayne State University with a Bachelor’s of Social Work. She received the Howard A. Donnelly Award and the National Association of Social Workers Student of the Year Award. Gail earned her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Wayne State University, graduated summa cum laude and was valedictorian of her class.

Gail did her internship at Oakland Family Services and worked in different programs until founding and directing the Family’s Count Program. After leaving Oakland Family Services, she accepted a position with Easter Seals, where she dedicated her life to helping others and became a long-time valued employee.

Gail had an indomitable spirit and spread joy, hope, empathy and love to all she met. She could see the good in other even when we couldn’t see it in ourselves. Everyone who knew Gail is a better person for having known her because we were able to see empathy and love in action and left her presence feeling a special connection. Her innate humility and dignity made her kindness and love genuine and left an impression and legacy that will last forever. We are blessed and grateful for the precious years that she graced our lives.
