James “Red” T. Wiles passed away on June 15, 2022 in Auburn Hills, MI at the age of 96. He was born in Oxford, MI on May 13, 1926 to John and Elsie (Dobson) Wiles. He married his beloved wife Beulah (McGinnis) Fournier on April 13, 1984. Jim worked for General Motors for many years before taking his well-deserved retirement in 1977. Jim honorably served his country during World War II and was awarded the Purple Heart for being wounded in action during the Battle of Okinawa. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans (Past Commander), the National Order of Trench Rats (Past Commander) and the American Legion. He was a long-term volunteer at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Allen Park and had a passion for helping veterans.
He is survived by his wife Beulah; children Patricia Puma, John (Barbara) Fournier, Jerry (Tana) Fournier, and Mark Fournier; 14 Grandchildren; 10 Great-Grandchildren; and one Great-Great-Grandchild.
A memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 29th, from 4 PM to 8 PM. Inurnment will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery on Thursday, June 30, 2022 at 12:30 PM.
