Jason Allen Kenward, 37, of Detroit, Michigan passed away on December 9, 2020. Jason Allen Kenward Sr. (Jay), was born in Mount Clemens, MI on November 27, 1983 to Jill Kenward (Hemmen). Jill encouraged her extremely busy, but talented son to occupy his time in many different areas. He excelled in school, and always enjoyed sports such as hockey and baseball, swimming, and he even dabbled in modeling. His mother and grandparents provided an exciting and enjoyable life for him. Jason leaves behind to mourn his passing, his parents, Jill and Donald Hemmen; his children, Jason Allen Kenward Jr., Alayna Elizabeth-Jane Kenward (Antika), and Hayleigh Marie Kenward (Kia’lissa); his only brother, Donovan James Hemmen; his uncles David Kenward, Steven Kenward; and Aunt Dawn Slater; his cousins Michelle Vasquez, Amanda Williams and Tara Zachmann; Minnie and her daughter Niylah King and a host of extended family and friends that he loved dearly. Jay enjoyed finding new adventures and he loved to stay active and busy. He enjoyed motorcycles, working out with his only brother Donovan, and spending time with his family. His passion was physical fitness, and because of this he started his own personal training business. Jay was a man of many talents and to know him was to love him. His playful, sincere and humorous nature drew many people near him. Jason always had a smile on his face and in his eyes. His funeral service will be held on Monday December 14, 2020, at Pixley Funeral Home in Auburn Hills, MI.

Jason
My many, many memories do not even include you in person, but are all about your life growing up. You were a very active child who excelled in athletics and giving love to your Mom & Grandma Jane. Those two worshiped the ground you walked on and that’s why you always had a smile on your face. You knew you were loved. I will always remember the last time we saw each other. You came down to SC with Don to deliver Danielle’s bedroom furniture. We had a great time hanging out in downtown Greenville and I will always cherish that memory since it was the last time I saw you. I know you are fishing with your Grandma Jane and loving every minute of it. Love you cousin 💕

Mista Jay. I still feel like there’s so much to be said between us. I want you to know I’m sorry for not cherishing our last days together. We didn’t know it would be the end but I still wish we could’ve had more time to talk and share and just be ourselves with each other. I enjoyed every moment we had and I’ll remember them forever. Love always.

My King, I just made it to moms today. I miss us chilling and watching movies together or how we used to go for rides sitting at the top of the hill in Minot. Not a day goes by without me thinking of you. I miss the conversations we had together babe, you made me feel like there was a solution to everything that occurred. Mom, Dad, Lavina, and Antie talk about how much you made them laugh while you were here. Lol
I miss how we used to dance in the kitchen, taste testing moms food, or how you used to instigate the little things snitching on me to mom. Lol. Or how we used to surprise each other with flowers and gifts. We always had something up our sleeve to make each other smile. We been through a lot within our time together.
Your my infinity and beyond as you would say! I love you baby❤️🥀

Cuzzo,
Where do I even start? From you picking me up to spend the summers with you. Will never forget when you picked me up and drove around the roundabout about 7 times and got a good laugh about it. Going to work with you and driving all over taking pictures. Driving around during my graduation party in the Lamborghini. From the calls and texts always checking to make sure I was good. So thankful for the times that we had together. This isn't goodbye, but see you later.
Love you cuzzo

I will never forget New York City 🌃 you were so amazed by everything. I enjoyed showing you around and it was like a movie. You were always so full of life. I miss talking on the phone all the time, singing to you and listening to your grand business plans. Our love and friendship was so special. You were always getting
Into something! You left so many memories here. Why did you have to go 😢 I love you jay. Can’t stop thinking about you. I wish we could have talked one last time. We were so young in this picture, both not sure where life was going to take us but we had a friendship that picked up no matter where we left off. I’m so grateful I got to spend 10 hour days talking to you while you were away you shared so many things with me that will forever be in my heart. Eating vending machine food, laughing and getting tattoos. Until we meet again 👼

Jay,
I enjoyed our workouts together. I wish we could have gone at least 1 more time so you could show me some new workouts.
I wish we could have had more experiences, gone more places, done more things together. I didn't get enough time with you.
I wish we had more time to spend up north at our property riding quads, dirt bikes and other fun stuff.
I'll stay in the gym because you asked me to in your last words to me. You told me to keep going. I'll work out twice as hard for both of us.
I wish you would have been able to see me get better at skateboarding. I'll keep doing it. Watch over me.
See you soon.
Love, your little bro, Donovan (P)

Jay...unconditional love...that’s what Ma had for you and I heard and saw it whenever she spoke of you. She had 37 short years to teach you everything from tying your shoes, ABC’s, 123’s, dedication to your goals, courage to stand up for what is right, how to treat women and to being the independent man you became! That is a testament of what an amazing woman she is. Please watch over and guide her as you always have.

You are loved and will be greatly missed by all. Watch over and protect your children, Donovan, Pops & Ma!

Jason, from the sweet little boy to the handsome young man you grew into, you've been my best friend. You and I went through so much together in this life. Equipped with a clear and calculating focus, he possessed a tough-minded, “take charge” attitude. He had the ability to make even routine situations seem exciting, and he was at ease with the role of playing problem solver. Jason always sought out the scene of where the action was. Sociable, outgoing and pleasant, Jason was an individual who enjoyed life’s challenges.
Jason was born on November 27, 1983 at Mt. Clemens General Hospital in Mt. Clemens, Michigan. He was born to Jill Kenward. Jason was raised in Macomb Township, Mi. Always able to express himself well, Jason possessed strong interpersonal skills. He was optimistic in his outlook on life. Armed with a great wit, Jason was raised among many friends and family members.
Jason was able to relate well with others. He felt like his close friends were his family. Jason has one brother, Donovan James Hemmen.
As a young child, Jason showed his creative ability in many ways. He was outgoing and animated. Jason enjoyed new activities and pursued a variety of interests including baseball, hockey, riding dirt bikes and swimming.
