

He was a well prepared and tough negotiator for his union
(Region 1A UAW) during contract talks.
John was a strong advocate for and a tirelessly worker for” The League of Women” after organization where he devoted much of his time and energy. He was also a very avid movie goer and critic too. He was also a daily jogger. You could always see him in the evening jogging through the streets of downtown Royal Oak, and he was also a big brother. He also tried to promote an interest in boxing for young teens in Pontiac a sponsored a couple of boxing events there.
Something little known: John was a strong supporter of & campaigner for President Obama’s first term. Arranged meetings, moved political material, confirmed speakers. He believed in the candidate.
A believer in animal rights did much both financially and verbally to promote their care.
John passed away on June 23, 2026, at the age of 83 from natural causes.
John chooses to be cremated. He is survived by his two brothers, Robert and Laurence Magary.
