Kathryn Eicher passed away on October 26, 2026, at the age of 90. She is survived by her son David (Sheila) and daughter Laurie (Paul), and her five grandchildren, Jason Sweet, Kristen Millington (Ryan), Mary Eicher (Bryan Bromley), Megan Sweet and Emily Wells (Antheny).
Kathryn was born on August 25, 1936, and raised in Milan, Michigan, by her parents, Hazel and Herman Braun, alongside her late sister, Jean. She attended Milan High School, where she was named Homecoming Queen her junior year. She graduated from the University of Michigan with a degree in Dental Hygiene. While working in Pigeon, she met her husband, Al Eicher. They married on July 19, 1958. They enjoyed traveling to different countries as well as spending time at their cottage up north in Caseville. Kathryn was a Girl Scout Troop leader, helped establish a preschool program at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, and served on committees for her children’s schools. She also worked as the bookkeeper alongside Al and her son David when they started their own production company. She spent many of her days playing Bridge with friends at The Heathers Club, doing crossword puzzles, and cheering on her grandchildren at their sporting events. She was also a loyal fan of the Detroit Tigers. After 68 years of marriage, Al passed away on September 7, 2026. As the family reflects on memories of Kathryn, they are grateful she can be with Al once again.
A service celebrating Kathryn’s life will be held on November 14, 2026 at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, 5631 N. Adams Road, Bloomfield Hills, with visitation beginning at 9:00 am and the service at 10:30 am.
