He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Loretta (Zaleski), son Kenneth and daughter-in-law Deborah DeMino, granddaughter, Catherine DeMino, his brother Ralph DeMino (Joyce Greaves), and 8 nieces and nephews.
Larry was preceded in death by his brothers Vic and Bill and his sisters-in-law Wanda (Coward) and Delores (Wheeler).
After graduating from Pontiac High School, Larry served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. While on duty he was a crew member on the USS Siboney and the USS Midway. After serving four years, he went on to graduate from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Marketing before obtaining employment at Allstate Insurance Company. He left Allstate after 15 years of service to pursue graduate studies and earned a master's degree in Guidance and Counseling at Oakland University. He worked various counseling positions before accepting a therapist position at Insight at Colombiere Center and retired after 18 years of full-time work at the age of 62.
He loved playing and watching golf, weight training, counseling friends and family, supporting his son, Ken while a member of Avondale track and field, reading, and following and talking about Michigan State sports. In his retirement years he was a trusted and valued friend in the neighborhood in which he lived.
Visitation will be 3-8pm on Monday April 8, 2024 at Pixley Funeral Home, 3530 Auburn Rd, Auburn Hills. The funeral service will be at 11am on Tuesday April 9, also at Pixley Funeral Home 3530 Auburn Rd, Auburn Hills. Interment and Military Honors will take place on April 9, at 2:30pm at Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Road, Holly, Michigan.
Memorial Contributions may be given to the American Heart Association or Atrial Fibrillation Association.
