Martha Marie Hood

Martha was born the daughter of Walter and June (Burnett) Johnson in Albia, Iowa on December 29, 1928. She graduated high school in Winterset Iowa, class of 1946. Martha married Miles Merton Hood on May 2, 1948 in Des Moines, Iowa. Martha and Miles raised their family in Auburn Hills. She was a member and deacon at Auburn Hills Presbyterian Church for many years. Martha loved crossword puzzles, game shows, and especially her grandkids. Martha is survived by her children Brian (Frances) Hood and Craig (Jill) Hood; grandchildren Scott Hood, Ryan (Marisa) Hood, Tyler Hood, Jayson Hood, and Jordan Powell; great-grandchild Miles Hood; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband Miles; and siblings Walter Johnson, Raymond Johnson, and Lou Brown. Martha’s family will welcome all to a visitation on Tuesday July 20, 2021 from 10 a.m. until the time of funeral service at noon at Pixley Funeral Home, located at 3530 Auburn Rd in Auburn Hills, Michigan. Burial will follow at White Chapel Memorial Cemetery, located at 621 W. Long Lake Rd in Troy, Michigan.
