Nancy Ellen Kubacka

Nancy Ellen Kubacka, age 75, of Auburn Hills passed away on March 17, 2023. Survived by her husband Richard, daughter Suzanne, and sister Phyllis (Robert), along with 4 nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents Harold and Betty Lee Bunce and her brother Lee (Michelle). Nancy spoke fondly of her childhood in Wantagh, Long Island New York and college life at Grove City College in PA. On a trip to London, England with her sister she met Richard who coincidentally lived near her in New York City. They celebrated 50 years of marriage last summer. She enjoyed playing games and doing word puzzles, animals, and was a voracious reader even after most of her sight was taken from her. Nancy had more than her fair share of health challenges but never let it get her down. She was an amazing woman and anyone who knew her was lucky. She will be deeply missed and always fiercely loved even in her absence. If you’d like to honor her memory, donations to Leader Dogs for the Blind in her name are appreciated. Alternately, just pay a good deed forward and think of Nancy while doing it. Word of wisdom: The old Ben Franklin adage “Never put off until tomorrow what you can do today” rings true. One last game of backgammon, another hug, or 5 minutes of sitting in their presence is better than an eternity of regret.
