

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Nancy Sue Schott, who left us peacefully on August 18, 2025, in Pontiac, Michigan. Born on May 27, 1944, Nancy was a remarkable woman who touched the lives of many and will be sorely missed by all who knew her.
Nancy was the cherished daughter of Tom Edd and Pearl Jones. She grew up in Auburn Hills, where she nurtured her love for family and community. A proud graduate of Avondale High School, she completed her education in 1962, laying the foundation for a life dedicated to service and care.
On December 3, 1966, Nancy married the love of her life, Melvin Schott. Together, they shared a beautiful love that spanned over 54 years, filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support for one another. Their bond, strengthened by shared dreams and family values, was a cornerstone of Nancy's life.
Nancy is preceded in death by her parents, her beloved sister Ann, and her devoted husband Melvin. She leaves behind a loving family who will carry her legacy forward. Nancy is survived by her two sons, Jeff (Shelly) Schott and Tom Schott. Her grandchildren, Greg (Robin), Jeannie (Missy), Emily (Travis), Christian, Andrew, and Asena, were a source of immense pride and joy for her. Adding to her legacy of love are her great-grandchildren: Avallyn, Liam, Leo, Emma, Bennett, Paxtyn, and Bryn, who will forever cherish the memories of their beloved Grama Nancy.
Professionally, Nancy worked as a secretary for Avondale Community Education and Deerfield Elementary, where she made lasting friendships and positively impacted the lives of countless students and colleagues. Her kindness and dedication to her work were evident in everything she did.
Nancy's passions extended beyond her professional life. She had a deep love for family, which was evident through her many gatherings, where she showcased her exceptional baking and cooking skills. These moments created cherished memories for all who were fortunate enough to partake in her delicious meals. She was also a voracious reader and was exceptionally skilled at crochet. Additionally, Nancy had a zest for travel, often sharing stories of her adventures and the beautiful places she explored with her family and dear friends.
In her later years, Nancy faced health challenges due to lung disease, but her spirit remained unyielding. Her strength and resilience were an inspiration to her loved ones, and she approached her struggles with grace and dignity.
Nancy's life will be celebrated with a visitation on Friday, August 22nd from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with additional visitation at 10:00 AM and a funeral service on Saturday, August 23rd at 11:00 AM at Pixley Funeral Home in Auburn Hills. Family and friends are invited to join in honoring the remarkable woman who gave so much love and joy to the world.
Nancy Sue Schott's legacy of love, kindness, and devotion to family will forever remain in our hearts. Her laughter, her warmth, and her unwavering love will be deeply missed, but her spirit will continue to guide us through our lives. Rest in peace, dear Nancy; you will always be remembered and cherished.
