Perry E Duvall of Troy, Mi passed away on Tuesday, Sept 28th, 2021 at the age of 87. After several years of declining health, which he managed with strength and dignity, Perry died peacefully at home with his beloved wife Anita and his children by his side.
Perry was born on July 14, 1934 in Charleston, Missouri to father Cedric Duvall and mother Pearl (Gwinn) Duvall. Perry didn’t have the opportunity for formal education, so he set out to help his family by joining the military at age 15 and serving his country during the Korean War. After his honorable discharge from the army Perry married Louise Maciag and had three children before her untimely passing.
Perry met Anita Louise Christie and they married on September 22, 1972 at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church in Detroit. They shared 49 years together, enjoying each other and spending time at their up-north cottage. Perry’s wish, as he shared on their most recent wedding anniversary, was to make it to their 50th.
Perry had a strong work ethic and was a good provider to his family. He worked as a Sprinkler Fitter for 35 years out of the Local 704 union.
Perry loved hunting, fishing, northern Michigan, and of course his coffee and Lucky Strikes. He was a member of the Eagles club in Madison Heights and the Elks clubs in Clawson and Troy.
Perry is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Anita Duvall; children Doris (Michael); Terry (Gail); Debby (John); Perry (Vicki); and Dawn (Bryan); 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and his sister Janet Griffin. He is predeceased by his parents, his sister Doris Duvall and three of his best furry friends: Ginger, Pickles & Angel.
