CROSS, Richard F., age 95, of Auburn Heights, died April 18, 2013. During World War II he served as a Staff Sergeant with the U. S. Army in the European Theatre with battles in Normandy, Northern France, the Ardennes and the Rhineland and received the Purple Heart. As the Supervisor of Maintenance for the Bloomfield Hills Public Schools, he retired in 1983 and was a Life Member of the American Legion Post #143 in Auburn Heights. Beloved husband of his wife Muriel, who preceded him in death in 2003. Dear father of Susan (Darryl Hool) Cross and Richard Cross. Also surviving are his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral Services 11:00 a.m. Monday at PIXLEY FUNERAL HOME, 3530 Auburn Road in Auburn Hills followed by interment in White Chapel Cemetery with Military Honors. His family will receive friends from 10:00a.m. Monday until the time of services at 11:00 a.m.. Memorial contributions in Richard’s name may be directed to the American Legion Post #143 and envelopes will be available at the funeral home. www.pixleyfhauburnhills.com

I have only fond memories of my Uncle Dick... he loved his gardens and a smile that I can still picture in my mind. My thoughts and prayers go out to my cousins and their families.

We give our deepest condolences and sympathy for his passing to God's Kingdom to Richard's family, and friend's, being a Life Time Member of the American Legion and Post 143
Richard Cross WW 2 Service VALOR has saved, endured, and preserved his beloved country, the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA FREEDOM'S and that of the FREE WORLD to this Day! The LIGHT his LIFE gave to his Country, the World, his Community, Veteran's, Family, and Friends will always be remembered and will never be extinguished by the forces of darkness he overcame with God's Help.
We now embrace Richard's final eternal mission with his Supreme Commander in God's Paradise!
