Tom was born on July 30, 1947, in Logansport, Indiana, where he was adopted by Erben and Genevieve (Adams) Hupp. Tom graduated from Avondale High School, class of 1965. He was drafted into the Army and served in Vietnam, achieving the rank of Sergeant. Tom earned his master’s in security administration from the University of Detroit Mercy. Tom had a career first in law enforcement as a police officer in Auburn Hills. He continued his career in various security management positions and as an adjunct professor at the University of Detroit Mercy. Tom also served in a special capacity as a security liability analyst. He was active in the Boys Club of Auburn Hills for many years.
Tom was a friend to so many in the community. He was a huge University of Michigan fan and enjoyed watching the Michigan football games with friends.
Tom is survived by his friends who will remember him fondly, including Charles and Candice Bartley. He was predeceased by his parents.
A memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday July 9th, 2025, from 10am until the time of the memorial service at noon at Pixley Funeral Home, located at 3530 Auburn Road in downtown Auburn Hills, Michigan. Interment will be at Aaron Webster Cemetery in Auburn Hills.
