Roger L. VanConant, age 72, of Rochester Hills, Michigan, passed away January 11, 2017. He was born on May 22, 1944 in Deckerville, Michigan to the late Gilbert F. and Mabel Edna (nee Blashell) VanConant. Roger served his country honorably during the Vietnam War with the US Army. Roger was a dedicated employee of General Motors and proud member of the UAW for almost 44 years. He worked at the foundry in Pontiac and with Pontiac Motors as a Skilled Tradesman. Roger was highly competitive, participating in baseball, basketball and softball. Husband of Michelle VanConant; father of Angel, Scott, Jennifer and Nichole; grandfather of Amber, Brett and Autumn; and great-grandfather of 2. Visitation will be 1 – 6 p.m. Sunday, January 15, 2016 at Pixley Funeral Home, 3530 Auburn Rd., in Auburn Hills, Michigan, with Military Honors taking place at 5:30 p.m.
