Skip (Harry) J. Speck

Skip was born the son of Arthur and Helene (Hoekstra) Speck in Detroit, Michigan on July 10, 1938. He attended Royal Oak High School, class of 1956. He served in the US Army from 1956 until 1959. Skip was married to Barbara Van Schoick on September 1, 1957 until her passing. He married Marilyn Strang on June 28, 1974 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Utica, Michigan. Skip was a member of the Oakland County Sportsmen’s Club and the Gold Wings Road Riders.

Skip is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Marilyn; children Alan (Carey) Strang, Terry (Emily) Strang, Diana (Bob) Bineau, Eric (Barb Fisher) Strang, Richard (Sandy) Strang, and Susan Walker; 21 grandchildren; and 33 great-grandchildren. Skip was predeceased his brother Irvin Speck.

Skip’s family welcomes everyone to a visitation on Friday September 3rd, 2021 from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1 p.m. at Pixley Funeral Home, located at 3530 Auburn Road in downtown Auburn Hills, Michigan. Burial will follow at Christian Memorial Cemetery, located at 521 East Hamlin Road in Rochester Hills.
