AUBURN: Edward N. Brown, 89, of Auburn passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday August 2, 2018 with his loving family at his side. He was born in Groton, CT on March 20, 1929 a son of the late James and Pauline Brown. At a young age, Ed and his family moved to Madison, ME where he would continue his schooling. In 1946, Ed joined the United States Air Force and proudly served his country for 4 years. After his discharge from the Air Force, he served in the United States Navy Reserves for two additional years. In 1960, Ed met the love of his life, the former Geraldine Hinkley and eventually married her on July 7, 1961 in Gray. Together, they spent many wonderful years with each other and had just celebrated their 57th anniversary.
Ed will always be remembered for his love of the outdoors, which consisted of much hunting and fishing. He and Geraldine enjoyed using their camper going all over as well as time on their boat. He was also an excellent dancer and the two of them would frequently go out dancing in Jay with their friends. He will be deeply missed by many.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Geraldine of Auburn, several brothers and sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his nine siblings.

Visiting hours will be held at Fortin\Auburn on Wednesday August 8, 2018 from 10am-12pm followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 12pm also at the funeral home. Committal prayers will follow the service at Oak Hill Cemetery in Auburn. Those wishing, in lieu of flowers, may make a charitable contribution in Ed's memory to Androscoggin Home Healthcare & Hospice 15 Strawberry Ave. Lewiston, ME 04240.
