Lewiston — Gerald Arthur Mosher, 75, of Auburn, formerly of Garfield Road, Minot, died Wednesday, April 18, at d’Youville Pavilion, surrounded by his family. Gerald was born November 10, 1942, in Lewiston, Maine, the son of Stella (Jennings) and William Mosher. A 1961 graduate of Edward Little High School in Auburn, Gerald joined the United States Army shortly after graduating and was stationed in Germany. On June 26, 1965 he married Sandra Lou Damon. Gerald and Sandra made their home and raised their sons in Minot. For 40 years Gerald was employed by Superior Concrete in Auburn, and then worked for Damon and Malone Construction in Scarborough. He was a former member of the Tyrian Lodge #73 of Mechanic Falls and the Kora Temple, Second Section, Lewiston, ME. For many seasons Gerald was involved with local auto racing, first as a crew member, and always as a fan. He had fond memories and told many stories from his fall hunting trips to the Craig’s camp in Masardis. He also enjoyed camping, gambling, and family gatherings.
Gerald is survived by his sons, Mark and Heidi of Auburn, and Matthew and Jessica of Turner; grandchildren, Joshua Mosher and companion Melissa Raposa of Biddeford, Mariah Mosher and companion Kyle DeSouza of Williamston, SC, Luke Mosher and Lilah Mosher both of Turner; a sister, Joanne Valliere of Lewiston; a brother, Thomas Mosher of Minot; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his parents; his wife of 50 years, Sandra; and his sister, Geraldine Mahoney. The family would like to thank the staff of d’Youville 4 West and Androscoggin Home Health and Hospice for the exceptional care they provided to Gerald. Visitation Fortin Group / AUBURN Monday April 23 2-4 & 6-8 PM. A Funeral Service will take place Tues. April 24 at 1 PM in the funeral home. Interment will take place later in the spring in the family lot at Center Minot Hill Cemetery.
