Betty McFadden

Betty Louise (Chris) McFadden, 68, of Kent, WA, died November 4, 2011, at home surrounded by family. Chris was born on July 4, 1943 in San Francisco, California to the late June and Kenneth Christiansen. After graduating from Renton High School she worked at Valley General Hospital until she was accepted into flight attendant training school for West Coast Airlines. She also flew with Hughes Airwest, Republic, and finally Northwest Airlines until she retired in 1984. She was flying DC3’s and F-27 aircraft when she met her husband. They were married in 1969 and resided in Kent from 1972 until present, raising their two children. Chris loved the northwest, and enjoyed spending time on Eliza Island with family and friends. In recent years Chris and Gary have been wintering in Yuma, Arizona along with their pugs and cats. She loved her family and pets and will be dearly missed. She is survived by her husband Gary McFadden of Kent; daughter and son-in-law, Courtney and Steven Tarr of Federal Way; son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Ashley McFadden of Puyallup; brother Clifford Christiansen of Mead, WA. A celebration of her life with be held at the Kent Senior Center on December 4th from 11-3.
