

Doris Faye Mitchell, 80, of Auburn WA, lost her battle with lung cancer on Tuesday, November 5th, 2013. Doris was born on May 9, 1933 in Wyoming, IL. She graduated from Kempton High School in 1951 and married the love of her life, Tom Mitchell, at Kempton Methodist Church in 1955. They lived in Illinois until Boeing recruited Tom and they picked up the family and moved to Washington in 1966. They settled in Auburn in 1967 and have lived there, in the same house, ever since.
Doris has been a member of the Green Valley Neighbors Club since moving to Auburn in 1967. She enjoyed gardening, both vegetables and flowers. She loved to dance, play cards and travel.
Doris is preceded in death by her father, Oswald Swearingen, her mother, Ina Swearingen, and her brothers Kenneth Swearingen and Roger Swearingen. She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Tom Mitchell, her siblings: Phyllis Bartley, Ed Swearingen (Mary), Dale Swearingen (Connie), and Betty Webster (Gene). Also by her son, Phil Mitchell (Joy), daughters Robin Loftus (Mark), Kathy Zipp (Bob) and Carol Mitchell, her 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
