Denise; i am very sorry to learn of your Mothers passing. You folks were really special people. You Mom always had a smile on her face and could laugh at anything. She will be missed.

I just received notice of Dottie's passing.  I worked with Dottie at "Ma Bell" for years and remember her infectious laugh that usually ended with all of us in laughing so hard we were in tears. We saw Dee Dee grow up to be a beautiful young lady who married Jerry a school mate and friend.  Over the years and with the AT&T breakup we lost touch but I will forever remember those cherished Bell Telephone days where we were more than co-workers, we were also friends and family.  I wish to extent my heartfelt sympathy  to Denise, Jerry and the Petersen family.

 I have known Dorothy since about the l950's, also her sister Madeleine and
their mother Marguerite,  all lovely ladies and great cooks.  They were a fun

I will always remember Mom Dorthoy's laugh and that beautiful smile. She laughed so hard at the "Coffee-In" Denise and I had until 5 am at Sambo's with her now wonderful husband Jerry.

I had the pleasure of working with Dottie at the telephone company business office (known then as Pacific Northwest Bell) back in the late 50's until 1969.  She was a person that took great pride in everything she did.  In later years, several of us that worked together would get together now & then, have lunch, & catch up on what was going on in each other's lives.  Dottie was one of the two ladies that would arrange these reunions.  After she moved to Federal Way, I'm sorry to say that Dottie & I lost touch with one another.  There are many fond memories I have of Dottie, but I guess the one that stands out the most is she always was such a classy dresser.  My deepest sympathy goes to Denise & her family.

Dee Dee and I took dance lessons in Auburn starting in about 1959.  We became fast friends almost from the start and our families followed.  Our moms would go for coffee and talk while we were in dance class or simply watch us from the sidelines with pride.  We shared BBQ's and dinners together as families and everyone always had a good time talking, laughing, relaxing and enjoying each other's company, from the adults to the kids.  Dorothy was such a good mom, always looking out for the best interests of her only daughter, whom it was obvious she adored as well as her devotion to her husband, Johnny.  They just don't make better people than the Petersens for their old-fashioned values that this world could use more of today!

I lost touch with Dee Dee as we grew because she was in Auburn and I was in Kent and then left the area for other career opportunities.  We reunited a few years ago and have stayed in touch since, for which I am grateful.  She took very good care of her mother, repaying the love and devotion she received.  I know she will miss her mom more than words can say and my thoughts and prayers are with all that will miss this grand lady we were all so privileged to have in our lives.

I worked with Dorothy at Metro Hauling, She was a great worker and did everything perfectly.  She was a very classy lady, who always dressed so nicely and everything matched. She will be missed.  Rest in peace.

Looking through Grandpa Mel's family photos last night it hit me how amazing the history of these four brothers.  The wonderful wives they found and families they built.  I feel so blessed to have been a part of Great Aunt Dottie's life and to have known such a wonderful lady.  A true gem in my book.

My wife and I were lucky enough to move into our first house together just down the street from John and Dorothy back in 1990.  We shared that neighborhood of E street for 12 years and had wonderful times with them again and again.  Dorothy was always ready with a big laugh at any of my poor jokes, and always had a cookie for our daughters.  They were both wonderful neighbors and dear friends we will never forget.
