

Henry Francis Knapp was born August 2nd 1923 in Garwood New Jersey to Henry L and Elsie A Knapp and died at the age of 90 November 25, 2013 with his son at his side. In 1932 at the age of nine his family moved to a ranch in Elk Highs Wyoming where an old settler took him under his wing and taught him how to hunt. Later be became a hunting guide. He was a pilot for United Airlines until World War II, and then flew Bell P-39, Boeing B-17 and P-47 Thunder Bolts in the European and Africa Theater. Later they placed him in Secret Intelligence until he was discharged. Henry returned to Wyoming where he worked as a Wyoming Highway Patrol, Auto Mechanic, and Union Pacific Rail Road and continued to fly privately . He had a long career at Boeing and after retirement Henry enjoyed mission trips to Russia, Romania, Brazil and Kenya through the Church of The Nazarene where he was an active member his whole life. Henry was preceded in death by his wife Esther L Asmussen. He is survived by his children Katherine Ann Middleton, Barbara Jean Knapp and Henry Richard Knapp (Colleen); 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren,
Memorial Service will be held December 2nd, at 4:30 pm at the Auburn Church of The Nazarene located at the corner of 29th and M street. Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday Dec 3rd at Auburn Mountain View Cemetery at 10:00 am.
