Oscar Laverne Leonard

Oscar Laverne Leonard was born on September 2nd, 1917 and reunited with Eva Chloe Leonard on July 19th, 2013. Oscar is survived by his wife, Lorraine Leonard, daughter, Sharon K. Fant, son-in-law, Steve Fant, son, Kevin D. Leonard, daughter-in-law, Alice Leonard, along with many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Oscar was born and raised in Panora, Iowa, married Eva on March 17th, 1940 and then moved to Seattle to work in the shipyards in 1942. He and Eva settled in Auburn, Washington in 1947 where they lived happily for 51 years before cancer took Eva away. Oscar was an avid fisherman, felt most at ease while dancing, loved playing cribbage and shared many memories camping at Gold Creek. While owning Leonard Construction Company for more than 30 years, Oscar worked with a number of other Auburn businesses to build the First Christian Church. He will be greatly missed by all. A graveside service will be held 10:00 AM, Friday July 26th at Mountain View Cemetery in Auburn. A gathering will follow afterwards at the grange.
