Beatrice Batson Moore Corbin, age 91, went to be with our Lord on September 19, 2019. She was the oldest child of loving parents, Charlie and Alice Lock Batson. She was predeceased by her husband, Herman Corbin, her son, Kenneth Moore, and her granddaughter, Janna Cozart, her siblings, Jeannette Hollingsworth, Pearl Tye, Geraldine Headley, James Batson and Charles Batson. She is survived by her sister, Doris Batson Pierce. She was the mother of seven and is survived by six of them: Janis Cozart-Cargo, Linda Watford (Buddy), Sandra Crews, Tammy Ray (Gary), Gary Moore (Linda), and Donald Moore (Kathy). She was the grandmother of 15, and the great grandmother of 20 children.

As a young mother, she and her husband, John Edward Moore, moved from Georgia to Miami, Florida in 1952. In 1961 they relocated to Auburndale, Florida. After being a homemaker for about 20 years, she went to work for and retired from Adams Packing Company. Beatrice and John divorced in 1979 and she later married Herman Corbin. They were together until 2002 when he passed away. Beatrice enjoyed country music and dancing, reading, spending time with family and friends, and will be forever loved and missed until we meet again.

After the memorial service on Saturday, everyone is invited to join the family for refreshments and companionship at Jan Cozart-Cargo’s house, 5014 Sunrise Drive, Winter Haven, FL 33880.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to Beatrice’s favorite charity, Mother’s Against Drunk Driving. Aunt Pat was loved not only by her children and grandchildren but also by nieces, nephews and many others. I have great memories of visiting and staying at her home when growing up. She was a combination of sweetness, strength and wisdom. She will be greatly missed but her love and memories will stay with us.

My sweet mama has always been there for me and never expected anything in return. I'm so blessed to have had her for ninety-one years. I'm so very thankful for my sisters and niece who took excellent care of her since the stroke took her independence away. She was the strongest, kindest and most loving woman and taught me how to love and care for others. I love you mama.
