OBITUARY

Betty Sue Byrd

April 1, 1952March 23, 2020

Betty Sue Byrd passed away peacefully on Monday, March 23, 2020 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in Lakeland, Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents, Onita Young and James Young and two brothers, Benny Young and Robert Young. Mrs. Byrd gave her life to the Lord at an early age. She was an evangelist at God’s Revival Center by Faith in Wahneta, FL. She dedicated her life to evangelizing and spreading the gospel of the Lord. If you needed a direct prayer line, you called her and she would pray with you; it didn’t matter if it was day or night. Serving the Lord was her passion. She wanted you to know the Lord, and live for him like she did. She spoke throughout the years at several churches, nursing homes, prison and street ministries.

She is survived by her daughter, Stephanie Byrd, (Davenport, FL); sister, Loretta Elmore (Jessie) (Auburndale, FL); Godson, Michael Sharpe (Lake Wales, FL) and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends that loved her very much.

While you were at the salon getting your hair done I always liked to listen to you, your faith was busting seems, and the fire of God was easily seen in You🎚 ! We didn’t get many conversations but I was listening 👂! God bless you and your family❤️

Aunt Betty Sue, you’ve always been a light in my life. You exemplified what a woman of God is. You taught me faith: that if you have faith, mountains could be moved. You also taught me who I was as a child of God; by example of who you knew you were. I am a child of God, a woman of God, and a prayer warrior. I know this because you taught me how to trust my Father with no doubt of any kind. Thank you, love you.

Mrs. Byrd you will be missed. I always enjoyed talking and laughing with you. You told me I’m not going to call you Gwen like everyone else I’m going to call you Gwendolyn I like your name. The last time we were together you wanted a donut and you knew I had an extra one, and I hid it because it was too much sugar for you. You said to me last week when we talked I still want my donut and we laughed. I know you are walking around heaven with that donut. Love you Mrs. Byrd.

It is hard to put into words how much Betty Sue's friendship meant to me. She was always their when I needed someone to talk to, someone to pray for me and to encourage me. We have had so many wonderful times together worshipping and praising the Lord together. I can almost see you looking down and saying, "Ha, Ha , I got here first. " Can't hardly wait to see you again in Heaven rejoicing and praising our wonderful Jesus. As you always said to me, "I am going to get my healing," and you surely did. I am going to miss you so much. I love you and miss you already. See you again in Heaven.
