Daniel Wade Barnes

Daniel Wade Barnes, age 48, of Lakeland, Florida passed away on Monday, May 9, 2022. Daniel was born June 29, 1973. Danny was born and raised in Lakeland, Florida. He graduated from Lakeland High School and attended Western Kentucky University on a tennis scholarship. After graduating with a degree in business, he worked as a retail manager until he found his true calling in real estate and agent development. His passions in life were teaching and playing tennis, his real estate career, and his wife Cathy. He loved his family. He enjoyed traveling to the beach, mountains, cruising and spending time with lifelong friends. He is survived by his wife Cathy Barnes, his mother and step-father Reta and Hampton Hill, father Gerald Barnes, and sister and brother-in-law Sandy and Jeff Hitt. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to either of Danny’s interests of tennis at USTA Florida Foundation, or his love of dogs at SPCA Florida. A visitation for Daniel will be held Saturday, May 21, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Crestview Baptist Church, 615 Old Polk City Road, Lakeland, Florida 33809, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM. Daniel will be laid to rest at Glen Abbey Memorial Gardens, 2200 K-Ville Ave, Auburndale, FL 33823-4959.
