Danny Bernard Richard, 69, of Winter Haven, Florida passed away on August 24, 2021 in Tampa, Florida. He was born on February 1, 1952 in Clearwater, Florida to the late Cleve Richard and Bertha Bruce Richard.
Danny has been playing guitar since the Beatles came to the United States.There is no kind of
music he didn’t like and he played every day of his life. In the 1970’s in Clearwater he played in
a band called Buckwheat which was featured on the radio. The Clearwater Sun called him the
next Jimi Hendrix. As a member of Buckwheat, Danny once opened for the Allman Brothers.
Recently, he performed as Danny Vegas, playing his own arrangements of his favorite songs
like a human jukebox. He just loved to play.
Danny has a large and close family. He married Darlene in 1976. They had 5 children: Angela,
Danny, Jennifer, Natalie, and Nathan. Angela is married to Tyler Hollis and Danny, Jr. is married
to Lacey Richard. Danny has three grandsons, Kobe Richard, Zaiden Richard, and Tyson
Hollis. In addition, Danny has many siblings, nieces, and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, September 5th at 1:00pm at Lake Parker Corporate
Pavilion Gate 4 Osprey 820 E Robson St. Lakeland, FL. Masks please.
