

David Villalon Gomez, 44, of Lakeland, FL, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on September 19, 2024, at Brandon Regional Hospital. He was born on May 19, 1980, in Tampa, FL, to Maximino Gomez and Maria Teresa Villalon. David worked for Fleet Products for 17 years, most recently as their warehouse administrator.
David is survived by his father Maximino Gomez of Mexico, sister Esmeralda (Andy) Palmquist of Lincoln, NE, brothers Guadalupe (Cory) Gomez and Jorge Max (Karen) Gomez of Weslaco, TX, aunt Patricia Villalon (Lino) Lopez of Lakeland, FL, 9 nieces and nephews (that he dearly loved), and too many aunts, uncles, and cousins to count.
David is preceded in death by his mother, Maria Teresa Gomez, uncle Ramiro Villalon, maternal grandparents Margarita and Baudillo Villalon and paternal grandmother Maria Rodriguez.
David loved sketching and painting. He collected movies and gaming consoles and appreciated good music. If you spent any time with him, you would not find it uncommon for him to skip to the next song every minute. He enjoyed his alone time but was always happiest to be around family, including his work family. His favorite times were spent vacationing in Texas and visiting his dad in Mexico.
When David was done with a conversation, he would say, “Bye now” and get up and leave. David, you were loved more than you knew, and you will be immensely missed. So, in his famous words, “Bye now”.
A visitation will be held on Friday, September 27, 2024 from 4:00-8:00 PM at Ott-Laughlin Funeral Home, 2198 K-Ville Ave, Auburndale, Florida. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Resurrection Catholic Church in Lakeland with interment to follow at Glen Abbey Memorial Gardens.
