Diane Lynne Richardson

Eagle Lake- Diane Lynne Richardson, age 55, of Eagle Lake, FL passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2016. She was born June 20, 1960 in Orlando, FL the daughter of the late Lucille Belle and Jerome Benjamin Rovall. She worked for Healthy Families in Polk County and later for the City of Eagle Lake.

Diane volunteered with Habitat for Humanity by helping build homes for families all across the county, including the homes of her neighbors in Eagle Lake. After many hours of “sweat equity”, her own home was dedicated to her in 2002.

In 2002, Diane was awarded Family Assessment Worker of the Year by Healthy Families of America, and in 2007 she was recognized for her exemplary service and dedication to the City of Eagle Lake. She enjoyed camping, fishing and day-tripping to the beach with her family. She also enjoyed hiking through the Circle B Bar Reserve and sitting on her front porch with binoculars to catch a shuttle lunch with her sons. She was kind, gracious and devoted, and we miss her very much.

Diane is survived by her sons: Adam Richardson and Mark Richardson of Eagle Lake, brothers: David Kurtz of Lakeland, Donald Kurtz and Ted Kurtz of Granite City, IL, and sisters: Peggy Kniss of Lakeland and Shirley Feely of Bradford, PA.

Funeral services are Saturday at 1:00 pm at Ott-Laughlin Funeral Home, Auburndale, FL
