Mr. Nguyen served in the as an officer prior to beginning his career in education. After moving to Florida, he became employed with the School Board of Polk County. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, ping-pong, and tennis. He was also a devoted Christian, serving at his church for over 50 years.
Mr. Nguyen is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, 10 children, and many other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Xuong and Ngu Nguyen.
A visitation for Dien will be held Friday, September 15, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Ott-Laughlin Funeral Home, 645 W Central Ave, Winter Haven, Florida 33880. A funeral service will occur Saturday, September 16, 2023 from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM at Winter Haven Vietnamese Alliance Church, 514 Charlotte Road, Auburndale, Florida 33823. A graveside service will occur Saturday, September 16, 2023 at 12:00 PM at Glen Abbey Memorial Gardens, 2200 K-Ville Ave, Auburndale, Florida 33823. A reception will occur Saturday, September 16, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, 2198 K Ville Ave, Auburndale, Florida 33823.
