In 1965 he married Virginia Joanna who preceded him in death in 2005. He later found love again and married Terina in 2009, she survives.
Also surviving is his children with Joanna, David Scott Rivers (Shelley) and daughter Tammy Patterson (Brian); grandchildren Ryan Rivers (Tiffany) and Marissa Lakaria (Omar); sisters Juanita Macks and Patricia Jarrell, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Delores, brother Howard and brother in law Bobby Macks.
Rudy served in the Army as a cook then worked for Velda Farms as a milkman for 40 years retiring in 2007.
He was an avid fan of the LA Dodgers and the Florida Gators.
On a daily basis he watched fox news and listened to the gospel on his bible. He was a member of Bagdad First Assembly of God church.
Visitation will be held at Ott-Laughlin Funeral Home, 2198 K-Ville Ave, Auburndale, Florida 33823, on June 5, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, followed by a Funeral Service at Ott-Laughlin Funeral Home at 11:00 am. He will be laid to rest with Military honors at Glen Abbey Memorial Gardens.
