Polk City, Florida - Earl Ray Smith Jr., age 86, passed away Thursday, June 16, 2016. He was born October 24, 1929 in Laurinburg, North Carolina, the son of Earl Ray Smith Sr. and Mabel Stroupe Smith. He was retired as a Master Sergeant with the US Air Force having served in the Korean War.
In addition to his parents, his brothers Bob and Jim, and his sister Anne, Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his wife Tami Smith in April of this year. He is survived by his son: Louis Smith of Polk City, sister: Betty Sanders of Morrisville, North Carolina and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services with military honors are Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at 2:00pm at Glen Abbey Memorial Gardens, 2200 K-Ville Avenue, Auburndale, FL 22823.
