Esther Mae Dumke

Esther married the love of her life, Robert Dumke, on March 4, 1961, and together they built a beautiful life until his passing. She attended Anderson College in Anderson, Indiana, and went on to dedicate her career to helping others through her work in home health care and with the Polk County Sheriff's Office.

Esther especially enjoyed spending time with her family, crafting, and cooking. She was a member of the Church of God in Anderson, Indiana.

Esther is survived by her loving daughters, Cynthia Green (John), Kimberly Brittain (Tim), and Debra Scanlan (Paul); her sister-in-law Earlene Pickett; 8 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was also close to her sister-in-law, Lois Barnes, whose husband Clarence Barnes precedes Esther in death.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert Dumke; her parents, Howard and Gladys Pickett; and her brothers Donald, Douglas, and Keith Pickett.

Esther’s legacy is one of kindness, strength, and generosity. She will be remembered fondly by all who knew her and will be deeply missed.

A Celebration of Life will be held September 3rd at 11:00 in Bushnell.
