James Eugene Olmsted, age 82, of Winter Haven, FL passed away Monday, August 25, 2014 at his residence. He was born February 7, 1932 in Lincoln, IL the son of LaVerne and Edna Olmstead. He was a tool & die Maker for Caterpillar, a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Scottish Rite. He was a veteran of the US Navy.
In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his son: Michael Olmsted, brother LaVerne Olmstead, Jr. and sister: Dorothy Sillett. He is survived by his wife, of 59 years, Barbara Olmsted, sons: Patrick Olmsted and Timothy Olmsted and his wife Darla, daughter: Melissa Olmsted, brothers: Charles Olmstead and Tommy Olmstead, sisters: Virginia Baker, Sandy Shull, Donna Hahn and Wilma Olmstead.
The family will have a memorial service at a later date.
