John W Brannon, 93 of Winter Haven, FL died at home April 23, 2018. Born April 8, 1925 in North Carolina to Hardie and Birdie Brannon he was the youngest of seven siblings. He married Jean Rhodes in 1947 and they moved to Florida in the 50’s settling in Winter Haven where he worked as an Owner/Operator truck driver with Alterman Transport Lines for over 40 years. He had one daughter, two grandchildren and one great-grandchild who he considered the greatest blessings of his life.
He did not want tears and mourning for his passing because he had a good, long life with few regrets. Instead, celebrate him as a man who approached each day as if it was a gift and was grateful for the good things in his life.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Jean Rhodes Brannon. He is survived by his daughter Debra Wilson - Winter Garden, FL, grandson Tim Wilson, Jr. – Port Richey, FL, granddaughter Meg Wilson – Orlando, FL and great-grandson Parker Jackson – Orlando, FL.
He will be interred April 26, 2018 at Glen Abbey Memorial Gardens, 2200 K-ville Ave, Auburndale, FL 33823. Visitation is from 11:00-12:00. Graveside service at Noon.
