

He married the love of his life, Charolett Belle Turner Conner, on December 8, 1967, and together they shared 58 wonderful years filled with love, laughter, and family. A graduate of Winter Haven High School, Wayne went on to work for Winn Dixie, Albertsons, and Save A Lot, dedicating 54 years to his profession as a butcher.
Wayne had a passion for life and enjoyed a variety of hobbies, including fishing, golfing, playing men’s fast pitch softball, and coaching softball. He enjoyed watching his favorite teams: Florida Gator Football, Green Bay Packers, and the New York Yankees. He was also a member of Beymer Methodist Church.
Wayne’s memory will be cherished by his loving wife, Charolett Belle Turner Conner, and their children: Dale Conner Bulman (Kenny) and Kellie Conner Lane (Tommy). He was a proud grandfather to Brody Bulman (Cameron Bowen) and Madison Mathis, and a joyful great-grandfather to Miles and Mollie Mathis.
He is also survived by his sisters, Betty Conner Dukes and Gail Conner; his brother, Hugh “Tibby” Conner; and many nieces and nephews.
Wayne was preceded in death by his father, William James Conner; his mother, Hattie Pauline Bridges Conner; and his brothers: James “Tim” Conner, Roy Conner, Jerry Conner, Clifford Conner, Glenn Conner, Billy Conner, and Michael Conner.
A funeral service will be held Friday, August 1, 2025 11:00 AM at Beymer Methodist Church, 700 N Lake Howard Dr, Winter Haven, FL 33881, immediately after the service a Celebration of Life will begin at 12:00 noon in Beymer's Stradley Hall. Joseph Wayne will be laid to rest at Glen Abbey Memorial Gardens in Auburndale.
Memorial contributions may be made to the George C. Forsythe Hospice House.
Wayne’s presence, love, and laughter will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew him.
