Josie was born on January 25, 1934 in Boaz, Alabama to Linnie Velma Brock and Gurley S. Smith. Josie was a life-long resident of Auburndale, a proud homemaker, a devout Christian and an avid Alabama Crimson Tide football fan. Roll Tide Roll!
She was preceded in death by her husband, J.W. Bristol in 2008 and her son, Gregory Gilbert in 1956. Josie is survived by her sister, Ruby Lee of Birmingham, Alabama, Arnold Smith of Boaz, Alabama and C.O. (Buddy) Smith of Gadsden, Alabama; her four children, Yvonne (Kenneth) Boyd, Jeffrey Gilbert, Cheryl (Terry) Justice, and Wendell (Michelle) Bristol; nine grandchildren, and sixteen great grandchildren.
Friends will be received on Wednesday, November 7th at 2:00 p.m. and funeral services will begin at 3:00 at Ott-Laughlin Funeral Home, 2198 K-Ville Avenue, Auburndale, FL 33823.
