Judy was born to Opal and John McNabb on August 11, 1954 in Lakeland, Florida but, grew up in Nashville, Georgia. As a child, she excelled in school and co-captained Berrien County’s varsity basketball team to their second state championship.
Judy met her husband, Mike, two weeks after their high school graduation in 1972. They married one year later on August 26, 1973 and went on to have two children, Christian and Lisa, who they raised in Bartow and Winter Haven, FL.
In addition to being a dedicated and loving mother, Judy also loved working at the Polk County Elections Office, was very active in the community, and held various roles, including teaching her beloved Sunday School class, at First Baptist Church of Eagle Lake. Judy was a caregiver, advisor, and friend to so many. She loved people and felt so fulfilled by helping anyone that she knew was in need. Throughout her entire life, she held an unwavering faith in God, which she whole-heartedly shared with all those who surrounded her.
Judy joins her parents, Opal and John, and her brothers, Johnny and Jessie, in Heaven. She is survived by her husband, Mike, her children, Christian (Jason), Lisa (Tyler), and her joy in life, her grandchildren, Hollace and Hudson.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held in her memory on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at First Baptist Church of Eagle Lake. Visitation will begin at 9am with the service following, at 10am. Please wear a mask and use Covid-19 precautions. This service will also be available to view on the church Facebook page for those out of state or unable to attend.
