Michael "Doug" Douglas Sowell

Michael "Doug" Douglas Sowell, age 61, passed away on Monday, August 9, 2021 in Winter Haven, Florida. Doug was born on October 12, 1959 in Lake Wales, Florida to James Arnold Sowell Sr. and Margie Fay Abercrombie.

Doug was an assistant parts manager in the automotive industry for most of his life. When not working he was a member or Westwood Baptist Church and enjoyed cars, Nascar and any sort of racing, but more than anything he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

Doug was predeceased by his father James Arnold Sowell Sr and brother Richard Daniel Sowell. He leaves behind his wife of 34 years, Glenda Sowell, his mother Margie Fay Sowell, son James Denney Sowell and his granddaughters Mekenzie Brynn Sowell and Kendal Grace Sowell. Doug also leaves behind his brothers James Arnold Sowell Jr. and Dudley Oneal Sowell along with a multitude of nieces nephews, cousins, extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.

A visitation will be held at Ott-Laughlin Funeral Home in Auburndale on Thursday, August 12, 2021 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00am on Friday, August 13, 2021 at Ott-Laughlin Funeral Home in Auburndale followed by a graveside service at Glen Abbey Memorial Gardens in Auburndale.
