As my cousin I have many fond memories of Shelly from a very young age; she climbing a tree so high she could not climb back down, talking about gophers for over an hour before realizing she was talking about turtles and I was talking about the brown furry kind that lived in the ground, staying up all night just sitting on the bed talking and laughing and just enjoying being together, being sick when our family went to Disney World and her being with us. She stayed with me because she did not want me to be alone. Even from a very young age she was loving, compassionate and caring. It would be 40 years before we had the chance to see each other again. The time was brief but I am so very thankful for each minute and each memory.

Andy, we may be in Colorado but all of our hearts are with you right now. Michele was such an amazing woman and an example to us of strength, humor, grace, and dignity. I’m looking forward to the next life when we meet again and maybe she’ll spill her secret for a perfect pecan pie. We love you both dearly, thank you for being such great examples to us of what it means to be Christlike.
