

Rhonda Sue (Gernert) Bennett died April 5, 2026. She was born January 22, 1952 in Willard, Ohio. She spent her first young years in Bloomville, Ohio living in the country with her cat named Tinkerbell and collie named Patches. In 1960 she moved with her family to Winter Haven, Florida. She was a 1970 graduate of Winter Haven High School where she proudly represented the school as a member of the Devilettes.
Rhonda was fun-loving and made friends easily wherever she went. If a celebration was at hand, she brought the sparkle. And she was never far from her beloved cats and kittens including an infamous Siamese cat named “Taffy.” She also loved riding horses and going for motorcycle rides with her husband Bill.
In 1991 she met and married her forever love, William A. “Bill” Bennett, Jr traveling to Europe and Africa as his work with Martin Marietta required. She made many friends along the way. In 2003 they settled in Winter Haven where she later enjoyed working as a dental assistant for Dr. Steven Hewitt.
She is survived by her husband William A. Bennett, Jr., and son Michael (Tiffany) Yates, six grandchildren (Cameron, Logan, Sydney, and Hudson Yates, and Gabreal and Liam Clisby). Two step-children Jennifer Clisby (Bennett) and Brett Bennett, and brother Bob (Melea) Gernert, Jr. Survivors also include brothers- and sisters-in-law James E. Bennett, Sr. (Loretta), and Kenneth A. Bennett (Kathy).
Funeral Services will be held at Ott-Laughlin Funeral Home on Saturday, April 18
