She was born on May 29, 1931 to Mae and George Jarke of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Gladys Borman, and her husband of 46 years, James C. Healy, as well as one brother, George Jarke. She is survived by her husband Herbert Durr, daughter Susan Shafer (Rod), son Timothy Healy (Jody), son David Healy (Yolanda), 6 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and a large extended family in New York.
Ruth enjoyed gardening, writing poetry, and serving her Lord whenever and wherever she was.
A family-only visitation will be held at Ott-Laughlin Funeral Home, located at 2198 K-Ville Ave, Auburndale, FL 33823, on November 21, 2025, from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
A celebration of life is scheduled at Lake Pierce Baptist Church, 3643 Canal Rd, Lake Wales, FL 33898, on November 22, 2025, at 2:00 PM.
Ruth will be laid to rest at Glen Abbey Memorial Gardens.
