Wanda Joyce Calloway

Winter Haven – Wanda “Joyce” Calloway passed away peacefully on June 13, 2018 in the presence of family. She was born April 2, 1940 in Andalusia, AL to Charles and Tula Kirkland. In 1958 Joyce moved to Polk County and later attended Southeastern College in Lakeland, FL. Joyce worked as an educator in the Polk County School system for 35 years. Upon retiring, Joyce was able to focus on her passions of RVing, visiting with family and friends, cooking and reading.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Charles Calloway; brother, Roy Kirkland; 2 sons and their spouses Kevin and Joan Calloway, Kris and Michele Calloway; and grandchildren, Robi Calloway, Brooke Calloway, Zach Hastings and Amy Hastings. She is also survived by a large extended family and numerous close friends from all over the US after over 17 years of full-time RVing with her husband, Charles.

Joyce is preceded in death by her father, Charles; mother, Tula; brothers Glen, Wayne and Johnny.

A memorial service will be held at Ott-Laughlin Funeral Home at Glen Abbey Memorial Gardens, 2200 K-Ville Ave, Auburndale, FL 33823 on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at 10:00AM.
