

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at 2pm at Elliott Sons Funeral Home, Lumpkin Road Chapel with Chaplin Jim Truitt officiating. Entombment with full military honors will take place in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Born in Johnson City, NY, he was the son of the late Arthur Earl Guldenschuh and Violet Eva Bryant Guldenschuh. Charles lived in various cities before moving to Augusta forty-six years ago. He retired from the Army after twenty-one years of service. While in the Army he served in Germany, Korea, and Vietnam, where he received the Bronze Star Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Meritorious Unit Commendation, Good Conduct Medal, Army of Occupation Medal, Medal for Humane Action, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, After retiring from the Army he went to work for J&J Products for two years, and then Sears, where he retired after twenty-two years. Charles was a member of the Bicentennial Chapel at Fort Gordon and a 32nd degree member of the Fleming Masonic Lodge, Augusta, and the Disabled American Veterans.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Arthur Guldenschuh, Jr., Donald Guldenschuh, and Rev. Edward Guldenschuh. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Ella Jean Powell Guldenschuh, sons, Charles Guldenschuh, Jr., Nashua, NH; Curtis Eric & Sarah Guldenschuh, McAlester, OK, Thomas Guldenschuh, Augusta; daughter Holly Jean McGee, Columbia, MO, brothers, Rev. Robert Guldenschuh, Eden, NC; George Guldenschuh, Poughkeepsie, NY; sister, Donna Taylor, Iowa City, IA; grandchildren, Alan Bojorquez, and Faith Bojorquez.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 1pm until the hour of service at the funeral home.
